Local supply contacted me !!
I had placed a request with him ages ago for Red Dot.

Today brought home 24 pounds

$444 and now home.

That comes to $18.50 per pound including taxes and freight

Rejoice with me !!

Mike

Excellent news skeetx. A week or two ago my father brought an 8lb jug of H335 from a friend who owns the local indoor range when the friend was cleaning out his garage for $100. I am still not sure what it is used for but I know I can't use it for shotguns. Hopefully it is for something I like to shoot since he reloads rifle ammo for me. Very Happy

H335 is a medium burning rate powder

It can be used for many rifle cartridges from 222 Rem to 8mm Mauser. and even up to 458 Win Mag

In burn rate near 4895 and BL-C, in other words a very useful powder

It is spherical and meters well but may require a magnum primer in some instances.

Not 6 months, but double that, 1 year

24 pounds x 7000 grains = 168,000 grains

200 shells a week x 17 grains = 3,400

168,000 divided by 3,400 = about 50 weeks or about 1 years shooting.

Kinda scary isn't it Embarassed Rolling Eyes

That price works out to close to $150 per 8 lb can. I guess I'll keep buying Promo.

IMR is just starting to show up - got 8# 700x for 130 bucks (my dealer)- not my FAVORITE , but I'll make it work ! (800x was around last week and probably still is - at least it's starting to show up !)

That many pounds of Red Dot?? Prima Facia case against you for using one of those INFIDEL guns; (otherwise it would have been a powder more suited to God's Gauge).

He he he,

I shoot with 10, 12, 16, 20, 28 and 410 normally
Occassionally I will shoot the 24 and 32 gauge guns, rarely.

The 16 all have to wait their turn.
but within the last several weeks I have shot the
Leige 16 O/U
Citori 16 O/U
Win 12 pump
A-5 3 Shot

Standing in line are many more yelling out in German, Belguim, Russian, and other languages Smile

Good for you Skeettx!!! We need more open minded shooters in this world, particularly when involving Europe and other similarly close minded societies. Do you respond to the complaints in the language sent? Very Happy Very Happy But there is one thing I still don't understand, How could someone as obviously open minded as you ever hold a job as an officer in the military? Wink
