Well yesterday I got my 410ga Mec 600jr switched over to 16ga with some minor difficulty changing everything out. It was not as quick a processes as I had thought in the beginning. Though I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to get the proper crimp with only two shells. I won't be able to really start reloading on it till I go out and shoot some boxes of factory shells. Since I cut most of my hulls for roll crimping. Oh well it gives me an excuse to take the M37 out to the range. |

Conrats on the switch over, yes, it is a pain.
That is why I have dedicated gauge presses

Wait until you try some of your own 3/4 and 7/8 oz. loads and see how they smash targets and kill game birds (doves in my particular case)! You'll wonder why you waited so long and have a new appreciation for your "The Queen of the uplands", sweet carrying guns. |

lets all give our buddy Nick a moment of appreciation for the DR - this sorta thinking used to be difficult at best without the wad MADE for it ! |

Those 7/8 oz. loads with the DR16 are working great in my 1100. My step daughter is learning to shoot, and a no recoil load is just what is needed.
Thanks Nick!!! |

Back in the day I had a single 600 -changeovers got faster each time but were still a pain.Eventually went to a dedicated, progressive press in each gauge. The 600 is a great press to learn on.As your shooting volume increases you may want to look into a Grabber.Another vote for the 3/4oz loads--I have used them for hunting and also on the clays with great results.Enjoy |
