Has anyone experimented with 20/28 in 16 hulls. I saw a posting on one of the SXS sites about 15 grains. I do load up 20s with the Alliant recipe and thought it might be a useful substitute for Pb/ 7625 in RST 21/2 hulls with Gulandi wads.
Thanks, |

My 1st try with this powder - I was not impressed . 28 ga loads . A few guys here had a whole series of loads tested and now I'm impressed - I hoard the last 1/2 pound in case I go out west . !7grns low end and 26 grns high end - loads from 1150 or so to 1700 or so . Precision Reloading has the high end ones in the archives if you know how to get in there . |

Go to Ballistics Products web site. Click on load of the week in the upper right corner of the home page. Scroll down until you see archived loads click on it .

I knew about the BPI loads , I thought Precision had some that I didn't know about, which would be alot more useful |

I love the 20/28 load in RGL's for clays, and game like grouse and woodcock. Now, I am often shooting old , light guns and often damascus, so I am not looking for a lot of recoil. The load was Tom Armbrust tested:
RGL/ W209/ DR16/ 15.5 gr 20/28/ 7/8oz for approx 1150 fps and under 6000psi. (often load just 3/4 oz also)
I have not used 20/28 in 2 1/2" Cheddites and would love to find a similar load using 20/28 for them. I currently load 7625, PB, Universal, or International in 2 1/2' shells--hey, you got to load whatever you can find! Picked up 2 lbs of Longshot at Cabelas the other day, but really havent looked much for load data--I know it is good for heavy loads. |

What is the extreme spread and the standard deviation of the above mentioned load you had tested by Tom A?
Thanks,

I did not have this load tested, but his results have been posted on this forum before with this load. I have a copy of it at home that I printed from this site. It is also listed under the spreadsheets. |
