At one time I've seen an extensive listing for green dot loads but I can't seem to put my fingers on them. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks |

For loads less than 1 oz (5/8-7/ I have found 17.8 -16.6 with a DR16 in an RGL hull works very nicely. Primer is W209. |

My favorite Green Dot load seems to be a standard one used by a number of our communit w/ a few variations per individual preferences.
Miy personal preference is thus:
RGL hull, 3/4 ounce of shot, Remington R16 wad w/ two, .135" thick, 28 ga. filler wads in the shot cup under the shot, 16 grains of GD, and a Noble Sport 209 primer.
I use the same powder charge and one less filler wad for my 7/8 ounce shot loads. This helps keep things simple with excellent results for either load weight.
Others prefer the DR16 wad w/o fillers and some other standard strength 209 primer based on what they find best fits the particular primer pockets of the hulls they have on hand. The common denominator seems to be at or around 16 grains of Green Dot.
Those who use any of the larger volume Cheddite type hulls find 17-18 grains of Green Dot wortks for them for either shot load weight. This because of the need to compensate for the lower avergage peak pressures produced by hulls w/ bigger internal volumes. Hope the info helps you along. Good luck. |

Thank you for all the responses. I have about 500 claybuster 16ga wads and use Federal hulls. Is there any reason why I do not see any reloading data for them?
Thanks |
