I've been trying to trim Remington RGL's with a trim doctor for my 1913 Model 12 16 ga. Seems I can't get any consistency with the length though. One will trim to the proper 2 9/16 and the next will go longer by 1/16 or more and the next one will be too short. Is this because the fiber base wad is at a different height shell to shell? I can't think of any other reason as I'm holding the shell pretty firmly against the threaded mandrel. I'm about to switch to different shells for my shorties. Any ideas? |

Rgl's are basically 3 different lengths . If you take a bunch , you will see it . I usually take the shorter ones and they are my m12 shells . The longer ones go in the Remington guns which will handle anything . Load the shorter ones on my MEC JR with a nickle under the platform and a skinny washer on top of the platform . Adjust the shoulder and crimp depth and blast away - your m12 will love em . |

You must have some really old Remington hulls ( Peters ) if they have a fiber base wad
All the newer Rems have a plastic base wad . Make sure you are using the right data . |
