My little Belgian 16 OU is choked .010 & .020 which is a bit tight for pointed birds in the first barrel, but workable. I'm short on workable powder and I'm saving my 1/3 pound of Unique of my 12 ga. first barrel load (below), so I thought I'd see how the ubiquitous Remington Game Load looked in the Belgian 16. The first two patterns are from the .010 under barrel at 25 yards, and the third photo is the top .020 barrel at 35 yards. I had an aiming error on the 35 yard target and I think some of the working pattern went high off the paper. I thought they looked decent and good nuf for the relatively few times I'll use the Belgian on pheasants this year.
I was thinking the #6 soft shot RGL loads might open up a bit more, but they hold together pretty well!

These two next patterns are from my customized 12 ga. Beretta 686 Onyx. They are 1 1/4 oz.Lawrence Mag 7's. The load is a Fed Gold Medal hull, 24 gr. Unique, Fed S4 wad, and a Fed 209A primer. The pattern paper is 4' wide.
These first two are from a skeet .005 tube at 30 yards.

This one is a 1 1/4 oz. RST "Pheasant" load (5's at 1200 fps) in the top barrel with a .026 IM choke at 35 yards.

…and here is the same RST load in a .020 Mod choke at 35 yards.

It's a good thing that you know what comes out of your barrels, maybe not so good for the pheasants. |

Sorry, I didn't give anyone much to go on here. First thing was an "Ah Ha" regarding the Remington Game Loads. I've never taken them very seriously for pheasant hunting and I always gravitated to a "better load." But these patterns look pretty good to me and I can't imagine these RGL 6's not doing a good job.
The 2nd patterns with the 1 1/4 oz. 7's in my 12 ga. is mainly what I had been pondering. I patterned at 30 yards because that's about as far as I'd want to stretch 7 shot. They look good to me, but in reality that's still fairly dense at 30 yards and most pointed birds are more like 20 yards, and at that range even with an .005 skeet choke I'm looking at an awful lot of shot in the bird. So after a few days of my pondering I've come back to using my nickel 6's for this load, and I'll save those 7's for 1 ounce "first-barrel"loads in an open-choked 16 gauge. |

Those Rem Game Loads will throw a nice pattern out of your M11 too! They are a very nice load for bunnies too! |

It was the cranky neighbor's garage while he was away. |
