I shot skeet last weekend with a remington model 31 sing Herters from Cabela's. several times the shell did not want to eject from the receiver. Upon comparing the spent shell to some other casings on the ground the Herters seem to be a little longer which is causing the shell to hang up. I am going to Wisconsin this weekend and plan on using RST 2 1/2 in shells for the first shell to be sure that I don't have a hangup. Anybody else experience this problem? |

Sure
Remingtons are the shortest.
2 1/2 ammo is certain!

Thanks Mike, I guess I might as well use the RST 2 1/2 all the way around so I don't load the wrong shell and hangup. |

I have difficulty with the Herters shells refusing to extract from my Savage 720 16 gauge.
The fired shells are not stuck in the chamber. They are not being properly gripped by the extractor. I think that the Herters shells have a smaller rim diameter and that is leading to issues with extraction with several guns. |

[quote="Dave in Maine"]You can get 16 ga ammo in Maine.
Kittery Trading Post (I-95 Exit 3, Kittery) usually has some.
If you go to Kittery you can usually get federal. Would be my first choice.

Check the extractor. If it is all rounded you should get a new one.
get them here. http://www.gunpartscorp.com/Products/159750B.htm

Thank you. I just looked into doing just that. |
