I have a number of Federal hulls.
I understand that Federal hulls are "straight walled" hulls, and many other reloaders suggest using wads designed for straight walled hulls when using Federal hulls. Not that you can't use other wads - just that using a wad designed for straight walled hulls will give a better gas seal in a straight walled hull.
Regardless, what is your preferred wad for Federal hulls? Let's assume 1 oz of shot.

| 2 wads ... the DR-16 and the Qualandi that BP sells . These are made for that app . If you were shooting 12/20 , you could go to wads made for both taper and straight from say winchester . MOST of the time , you can get away with rem wads or the 20l in a 16 rem/win taper case ,but if I were hoofing alond the prairie chasing Nick and Reno at 20mph , I would NOT trust my loads with rem pr win/clone wads . Too much chance for powder migration in straight walls - been there done that ! |

| Dr16, SG16, & Z-16 . The Rem SP16 will work fine if you use a large flake powder Like 800x |
