I am about to dabble in loading some 1 ounce 16 GA spreader loads using Red Dot, BPI Spreader inserts and Gualandi wads.

I need recommendation for a powder charge, also I have once-fired Herter's, Remington and RST hulls - which should I use ?[/code] Question

Lets go ched/herters ... I'm pretty sure I used 16grns in mine . The sg and spreader will PROBABLY fit quite well with that payload . The load will work in the RST's if they are full length . I wouldnlt use that combo in the rgls as the rgls have thick casing and not as much room for the sg's . Check old hunters collection of loads and you'll find what you are looking for in there along with EVERY LOAD EVER PUBLISHED IN THE WORLD !!! very valuable !

For 1 oz Cheddites there are no recipes for Red Dot in the Old Hunter's tables. Blue Dot and Green Dot, yes. No RD

These are some recipes using BPI SG-16 wads. There are no Gualandi wad loads.

Green dot 18.0 gr Ched 209 SG 16 7,500 PSI 1165 FPS
Herco 21.0 gr Ched 209 SG 16 8,500 PSI 1220 FPS
Unique 18.0 gr Ched 209 SG 16 8,200 PSI 1165 FPS
20/28 20.0 gr Ched 209 SG 16 8,400 PSI 1,255 FPS

There's more recipes, but . . . none of what you are thinking of using.
