I was just given a bag of rp-20 wads (w23678) but I can't find any load data for them. Says they are for 7/8 ounce. They look identical to the sp-20 but the petals are shorter. My books go back to the early 90's and there is nothing for the rp-20. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks. |

I have one book that lists loads for the RP20, but there aren't many. Appears the RXP20 wad was more popular. at any rate:
Win CF, Win 209, 1 oz shot,20.5-21.5 SR4756 1165/9400; 1215/10300
Same hul,shot, CCI209; 22.0 SR4756 1220/10300
Win CF,Win or CCI 209, 1 1/8 oz shot; 24.0 HS7(571) 1175/10500
Rem RXP hull, CCI 209, 1 oz, 20.5 SR4756, 1165/9800
Rem RXP, 1 oz, Win 209, 20.0-21.5 SR4756 1165/10500 1205/10300
Rem SP hull, CCI209,1 oz. 19.5 SR4756 1175/9900
There are additional loads but they used Rem 57 primers, Fed 209 (not 209A), Fed paper hulls, or 3" hulls. If you have those components let me know and I can post additional loads.
This data is from Handbook of Shotshell Reloading by Kenneth Couger 1984. |

Thanks for the help, it appears that there are not many recipes for that wad, must not have been a very common one? But I do have some hs7 lying around that I could use with them. Thanks again. |
