Trying to sum up the info I've learned here before I place some orders and build some test loads to pattern in my barrels.
From what I understand, with Federal hulls for 1 1/8oz loads there are two pretty good options:
SP16 wad and coarser powders to avoid migration such as 800x. Most folks list this wad as their first choice for 1 1/8 oz.
Or
SG-16 wad. Several other threads mention this as a first choice for 1oz loads but don't list it very often for 1 1/8 loads, although there are lots of powder options for this combo in the spreadsheet. Wondering if there might be space/crimping issues?
I guess theres also a third, Z16, but there are very few loads in the sheets for this wad.
Appreciate any comments/suggestions.
Thx. |

Thx Mike. Sorry if I upset you Doggai.
Not that I necessarily want to, but are the 2116 and 1816, shown as Super G Midi and Mini respectively on PR (but different names on BPI) interchangeable for the spreadsheet loads? I don't see any further breakdown than SG16 there.
Thx again. |
