My oldest son gave back to me a pound of Solo 1000 that I gave him....15 or more years ago. It is till unopened. Not being able to find and SR-4756 I'd like to use this in my 16's in Federal hulls. Now I'm not very good at doing the web search thing but I did find a lot of data for 12 bores. I'd like a 2 1/2 dr. equiv. load under 1 oz. of shot. Can anyone direct me to a source or does anyone have any data? My guns are all old, some 2 1/2 in. chambered so I'm not looking for any barn burners.

I have a 1998 Accurate Loading manual that shows using 16gr of powder using either a Fed 209A primer or a Win 209 primer w/ an AA16 wad +1 .135 card wad in your Fed hulls. Aprox Vel is 1165 fps. W/ a Rem primer use 16.5 gr and SP16 wad + 1/4 card wad.

Thank you RLR!! All I have is Remington wads, is it acceptable to substitute them? I assume that is a one ounce load?

Its 1 oz, 2.5 drams that you specified. SP wad is the Remington so use that recipe that I posted w/ the Remington primer and add'l powder.

Thanks again RLR. Another acquaintance found a pile of Solo 1000 loads for the 16 and the Rem. wad was listed. The charge weight is 1 grain more at 17.5

I did specify that load. I load so little shot shell I almost always forget to mention the wad.
