Sounds like a fun way to plant the garden. But it its only available in 12 ga. We all know 16 ga will do a better job. So who is going to make some loads for us 16ga guys.

How about the shells where the cremated remains (of a loved one)are loaded then fired into the air Rolling Eyes

We had talked about using one of our hunting dogs ashes as buffer to shoot over some of the area's he hunted with us but have not done it as yet. Cool

hoashooter; I have to alter my will! Thanks for the hint. The ashes dropped into the shotload would likely tighten the patterns? Have the family out for a fun-shoot at the trap range. If it is at a legally registered range it wouldn't count as an illegal disposal of remains.

If you shoot a pheasant with a shell containing human ashes, and a little residue remains on the pellets as they hit the bird, and you eat the bird, would that then be cannibalism?

I can see using worn-out hulls as starter pots for individual garden seeds. Just deprime and line the hull with a piece of nonwoven fabric (to make removing the seedling and its dirt easy) before adding dirt and seed.
It could work.

D-I-M ... do you recommend full length cases or shortened ones !!?? geez , I'm in enough trouble around here - can just see what the reaction would be to planting the garden with my shotgun ! Laughing

Yeah my neighbors would just love me, if I tried planting the garden with my shotgun........but there is a guy that raises pigeons across the way from me and when he releases them they fly right over my place.......they are very enticing targets!!!

I will have to rewrite my will. Use me as buffer sounds like a good way for the family to have some fun at my expense. Or to blow off some much needed steam. Anything would be better then everyone wondering who is going to get the drunkest and knock over the coffin. That my family tradition at funerals. Maybe shotguns and reloading is not such a good Idea with my folks.

Unfortunately I live in the city. So no cheating for me.
