One of the outcomes of playing with the super mag , is that I've gotten REAL used to my scale again ! The 6's used came out of reclaimed Fed factory shells . In order to get the 600grns , I had to go to 11/2 oz setting on my Lee scoop . 3/8 filler . Now just for s & g's , loaded a heavy 8 shot (low antimony ) load , and had to drop to the rg 13/8 scoop and a 1/2'' filler . SOOO , tried this version in a 25/8'' fed case and the load fit just nice , with a 3/8 filler and the heavier(less volumn) shot . Now , normally I load such lite shells that I don't concern myself too much . But these big boys , I want to be spot on ... The Mec bars are lite , because the old norm used to be heavy shot . I have to look far and wide for it now , and the general consensus is that mag shot is far superior .... Just saying that , if you are not familiar with your scales , GET ONE and do so - you'll see why there is such a variance in what you load . Mikey C may know what the weight diff is between say Eagle and Lawrence , maybe none , maybe some !

I check the weight of the powder/shot measured by the bushings when ever the lot/can is changed, and sometimes for the same can if it's been a while since that powder was used, or if I want to verify that I'm getting the same drop even though I may be using a slightly different technique with the loader. The results can vary considerably, so best to keep things accurate.
