No
But they will get FIRST distribution.
Joe, yes the correct number, just tell them you want on the DR-16 wad list.

Was that a new case of wads or just in your stash?
Mike,
How long until the rest of the world gets wads? Gloftness and I buy from the same great local dealer and I would love to support him. Never heard of a wad having limited distribution before. Seems odd to me. Our dealer also sells lots of down Range products.

Some of you guys are picking at scabs
When the initial run is made, the first shipment will be to Recobs
Where they go next is DownRange's decision
So if you choose not to get in line at Recobs, they will be to your local fella
when they get there.
I still have 7,000 DR-16 wads so I am in no hurry, but .....
Mike
p.s. Just got off the phone with Kevin, molds are installed and wads are coming out of them TODAY to be inspected and packaged, |

skeet,
Have some fun, I was thinking of starting a rumor that the DR-16 never truly existed and it was a mass delusion from disgruntled reloaders pining for a 7/8 oz wad.
I could then find a market for my tin hats! |

You know, I was not going to reply BUT
You do not know how close you came to NEVER getting any DR16 wads again?
Some folks always want to find fault and blame.
And we are a small percentage of some concerns profits.
And sometimes things just happen in SNOW, floods, cracked molds, improper feed stock and so on and so on.
But in spite of all the scab picking and nay-saying, sometimes a kind word will turneth away wrath.
All I can say is y'all better pray a prayer of THANKS that you even have a DR16 wad to fuss over, EVER!
Ok, now I can go back to sleep.

I would focus on the main point. Everything suggest the drought is about to end.
Purchase them myself or not, I've not decided. I definitely have a reduced opinion of Downrange that will stay with me over my next 40 or 50 years of wad purchasing.
I understand some of you might be more 'short' term customers! |

I love the DR 16 wads. Not a high volume shooter so my original order has not been used up. Hope to buy more through regular channels when all you high volume guys get yours. Its my go to wad in 2 1/2 "cheddite 3/4 oz. load for grouse in my Ithaca Flues I I/2.
Thank you Nick!
Regards

Just a bit of 16 gauge society history. Charles Hammack developed and designed the DR16 wad. He then produced the mold with his own money and time. Down Range agreed to produce the wad from Charles mold. I believe the hold up this last time was a problem with the mold that needed fixed. I think Charles still owns the mold and DR runs the product. So with out Charles we have no DR16 and without Down range we have no production. I am sure that the couple hundred cases that the 16er's buy is hardly worth the effort for a manufacturing company. This is a specialty novelty item that nobody is getting rich from. I certainly understand the frustration but this thing can go away and the only people that lose anything is us 16 gauge re-loaders. I personally love the 3/4 and 7/8 oz loads without filler that the wad enables us to make. We had the special run of R16 wads years ago and they are no longer available. The SG 16 wads come and go and availability is never steady. 16 gauge components are not a good profit centers for any of the manufactures I'm thankful for what we have. My points is all the complaining and bad mouthing may make one of the parties involved say we don't need this hassle lets move on to a more profitable venture. This was a very special project for the benefit of 16 gauge shooters. Thank you to Charles and Down Range I appreciate the wad it increases my flexibility and enjoyment with the gauge from 3/4 to 1oz. |
