Not tried it. I have some older guns that originally served in Sweden where extremely tight chokes were valued. I often cut the petals off my DR-16s to allow a bit more spread. Sorry, no photos of pattern sheets. (What are they?) |

Ordered only 200pcs, will report back when i have them in hand.
Guess they can be used instead of fibre wad.
Would maybe be suitable for an 1oz load in short hull, and #7,5 for early season grouse... (just thinking loud) |

Ok, here they are, just arrived from Italy.
Crush section looks like SG16 in the middle. |

Made a couple of test loads.
67mm cheddite hull, With this wad and 1oz #7,5, but had way too much room left so i threw in a x-tream spreader and got a Nice tight crimp.
Under shot card also worked well. |

How do they pattern? How is you gun choked, and how much greater spread do you get?
I just noted that you are in Norway. What do you shoot with the shotgun where you hunt? |

Have not testet yet, no load data on these wads, so need to do some thinking on how much powder.
My Merkel 200E is imp. and imp. modified.(1/4-3/4) My Suhl mod.127 is imp. and modified.(1/4-1/2)
Shoot mostly grouse, capercaillie, hare, blackgrouse and fox. |

I went to the siarm website, but looked without success for reloading data;
http://www.siarm.com/product_info.php?products_id=2901
It does seem to say that the "freeshot" wad is suitable for generic loads. I'm not sure what that means. (I leave the guessing to you!)
Is there a Scandinavian forum for reloaders? You local shooters would be a good source of information for the components available in Norway. Another suggestion would be to contact the makers of the powders available there? |

Hi, thanks for the reply!
My understanding of "generic" is loads With no specific Component info. in load data.
It just differs between plastic/paper hull, plasic/fibre wad etc.
http://www.gualandi.it/docs/tabpolv_2013_eng.pdf
There are Scandinavian forums for reloaders, but reloading 16ga. is not very common here. I use American powder and primers, so i find this site more valuable for info. |

Thank you for the Gualandi load data sheet. I have bookmarked it, just in case!
I notice that some loads are for plastic wads, and some for fibre wads. When you load these 'topless" wads consider that they are plastic wads and stay on or below the data for plastic wads. The petals would affect the load much less than the improved seal of the plastic gas-seal.
If you use American primers and powder, have you joined the Yahoo group for 16 gauge data; (A lot of numbers! Hope it works.)
I deleted the link as it showed my log-in data. Google "yahoo groups 16 ga. reloading" and APPLY to join. |

Yes, my intentinon was to use the plastic wad data in case I was going to use this data. But i do need to get hold of some Vithavouri powder.
I am a member of the Yahoo Group(spreadsheets). Its been very helpful for me over the last years. I would probably never startet reloding if it wasnt for that. |
