I am gloating that 4 of the boxes are 5 shot.
An FFL buddy always has his eye out for 16 gauge stuff for me.
These were waiting for me when I paid a visit yesterday.

I traded for 294 2" (50 mm) 12 gauge shotshells at the skeet range this afternoon.
They should be great for Dove hunting at 50mm, 15/16 ounce of #8 and about 1300 FPS.

| that box of rems in the top left corner warm my heart ! Bought many cases of those in my 20's & 30's and many pheasants were sorry ! Best load ever IMO ! |

Very nice selection! When I was a kid one of my dad's friends bought me some Upland 16s to use in a borrowed 16ga pump gun, and though they're no different from the Xpert version beyond the markings, I thought they were the slickest shells ever seen. Though I didn't recall it at the time, looking back they must have been bought at Gun World in Harrisville, PA.
Fast forward some years and I wound up with 2 cases of CF Winchesters from a friend in Texas plus another from a local gun shop clearing out an estate. The Xpert 7.5s and SuperX 6s have been good pheasant shells, then the empties have made up nice reloads with hard shot and WW540 or HS-6 powder. Loading light target shells in Cheddite variant hulls means I may never get to the heavy 8's but they're there in reserve if needed.
Those Remingtons you picked up are probably the kind you can see into. My other favorite type of shell from years ago. |

I keep falling into them, some smaller shot sizes too which I was happy about. Not bad for $40 out the door.

| ROMAC, those 1-1/8 ounce #5 loads of yours should be just the ticket for wild roosters. I also have a couple of boxes of the 1-1/4 ounce #4 Super X Magnum loads like yours which were given to me a long while ago (mine are packed in the older style white box w/ the big red X on the left). I've never had the occasion to use them since I've always taken my own 1-1/4 ounce hand loads along late in the season. I'll bet these old heavy Winchester loads will still pack a wallup though. |

Winchester used to sell target loads for the 16, even though it wasn't a recognized skeet or trap gauge. Wish they still did.
