Anyone ever use this load -

14 grns 700X
WinAA wad
1oz. lead
fold crimp
Lyman's 4th

I made a bunch up using a spred'r disc, and #7 1/2 shot, and I would like to make up some more using #6's.

Before I use the rest of my 700x powder on this load, I'd like to check anyone else's experience with it. (no real place to test nearby)

Are you asking about spreader loads in general or about your load with the spreader disc .

Just the load in general.

I got this one from the spred sheets. Most loads from Lyman's are/should be decent anyway. Powder is sparce enough, and I just don't want to load up the half pound I have left, on hunting loads, if it is a significantly 'poor' recipe.

I have also never used this powder before for my 16ga. loads. It came free with the reloader it when I bought it a few years ago.

I use a 700x , 1 oz because it fits in a 2 1/2 " ched hull for use in my short chambered A5,s and they also shoot very good for me . But it's a different hull and wad combo than the load you are looking at .

What I usually do when trying a new load is first , check the load for fit and crimp . If it loads good , them I load at least a box and go shoot them and see how the preform . If I like them I load more .

Thanks fn. They do load up very well, no cheerios needed!

I'll load up a box of non-spreders and test them out on so ruffies in a week.
