I was able to pick up a bunch of powder in Ohio this weekend, though unfortunately no Long Shot. My powder of choice for 16 gauge Skeet loads. Driving home today with 8 pound jugs of Red Dot, 296, Unique, 700X and Blue Dot.

Anyone have a recipe for 1 1/16 or 1 1/8 ounce loads with Remington Plastic Game Hulls, SP16 Remington wads and any primer (have all the U.S. sized primers in my inventory) using Unique? They seem to only list 1 ounce loads with a plastic case, but do show one for 1 1/8 with Federal Paper, which I do not have.

Thanks Bob

You might as well use the other powders for weed killer but Unique is great stuff. I don't have your recipe but I would like to see it also.

I load all 5 gauges (No 10 gauge) so the assortment I got was good to cover them all, but I don't have enough Longshot and am looking for something to replacement that is available more often.

Bob,

There were some 7625 recipes posted on the Hodgon site, if you have some and want to use it for 16. They were loading the RST/ Cheditte hull and used Gulandi wads and 7/8 oz. i had the same hulls/wads tesed by precision using 20/28 and now use it regularly since 7625 has been discontinued. Send a pm and i,ll send you the stats.

Good loading,
John

I went ahead and looked up Lyman's based on fn16ga's thought. They have 1 oz but nothing larger listed.

Chukarman's charts show quite a few loads for 1-1/8 oz with the components you mention. I believe these are now maintained in the 16 gauge group on yahoo.

All the loads I could find for Unique in Plastic Hulls were for 1 0z or less. I think there might not be enough room for the powder and a plastic wad with 1 1/8 ozs of shot. Longshot shows loads for 1 1/8 with the SP16 Remington Wads.

Will just try to buy more Longshot and use the Unique for other gauges and pistol loads.

Thanks all.

Bob

Unique & WSF are a couple of my favorite 16 ga powders. Avoided Blue Dot since the factory safety warning about its use in 41mag. Would use Longshot for the 16ga mag loads if ever needed.
