I really would like to have a modern 16 ga. autoloader that would handle some heavy non=toxic or steel shot loads for waterfowl'. Being fond of my present A-5 humpback, I would buy a modern A=5 in a heartbeat.
Are you listening Browning? If you are going to, please hurry up. My 80 year old butt may not have that many more trips left! ( OK I can always leave one to my boys)

I don't see anything special in a new "A-5" of any gauge. The similarity to the original is merely cosmetic, much as the current VW Beetle has almost nothing in common with the original Bug.

Very intriguing. A new scaled frame 6lb sweet sixteen with choke tubes would really be a do it all gun if there ever was one. I think it would be a home run. |

Why ????
I did handle one of the new 12ga's for the first time in the dove field the other day . It is a really nice handling gun and lite . The owner said it has been really reliable with heavy duck loads and lite dove loads .
I would like it alot better if it were scaled to the 16ga . |

Add another here. Either one would be interesting, though. |

As long as it is reasonable in weight I guess it is time to start saving my pennies and avoiding buying other guns.
hehehehe, who am I kidding!

I own a Silver, but I wouldn't trade my banged up rust-flowered pre-war 16 ga A-5 for a crate full of Silvers.

Amen to that.
I have a friend that works closely with Browning...and he mentioned the Sweet 16 coming out as well the other night. |

Interestingly they are coming out with ammo next year as well. Wonder if Browning will be scratching that itch too! Hell why not compression formed hulls. Others I've read are also dreaming of 3 inch chambers. God we are a desperate, hungry bunch. |

I think I'd rather take the $1,600 +/- the new ones will cost, spend a third of it on a Japanese invector barrel and keep plugging along with my old reliable 1950 Sweet.
If it ain't broke....
Just saying.
