Its our year everyone. We'll be celebrating the 16 gauge in 2016!!!! The shoot is scheduled for May 21st at South St. Paul Gun Club again. There will be sporting clays, the grouse walk and a 5 stand event. A long lunch will again be scheduled so that we can eat together, ogle all the amazing 16 gauge guns that will be there and have the opportunity to buy, barter and trade stuff with each other. The first year was great, last year was better and I'm planning on 2016 being fabulous. I'll have specifics and a flyer soon. Make plans now. Lots of hotels nearby - the Mall of America and Minneapolis/St. Paul International airport are only minutes from the gun club. Bring the family and make a long weekend out of it.
This is, by far, the biggest 16 gauge shoot in all of North America. Bring your pumps, autoloaders, over/unders, SxS, drillings, single shots and bolt actions. We do not discriminate - except by gauge, of course.
This is what 3,500 once fired Federals looks like. I'm getting ready to fill some of these bad boys up!

See you there,

I plan on arriving supper time Friday and leaving Saturday between 4-6 pm. Got to check out ballistic products while I'm there.
Received a drill press for Christmas so might pick up a roll crimper and hull doctor thing. |

Charlie,
Looking forward to our attendance from Iowa increasing with your presence. Don't get too excited about Ballistic Products. Nothing to see except the front office - no shop and no tours. It is nice to say you've been there.
Regards,
Jeff |

It will be nice to see even 1 other shooter using a 16. Around here I see a split of about 90% 12, 9% 20, and yeah you guest it 1% (me) 16.
Just wish I was a better shot thus a better ambassador for our gauge. Maybe some guys can give me some lessons during the event. |

There's never a shortage of free advice there for the asking!
It's a very enjoyable shoot. Thanks for all of your work in setting this up, Jeff! |

Thanks for bringing this back up to the top. I am working on what will hopefully be a major coup for our shoot. I will keep everyone updated as things progress. We have already submitted a request for great weather, so hopefully that will get processed soon. You're all making plans to attend, right?
In the meantime think 16 in '16.
I'm busy this winter replenishing my supply of reloads. Off to a good start.

Jeff,
Seeing all that Federal purple, make my heart go pitter patter! WOW.
500 of those and I'd be doing cartwheels. |

I had a vision last night.
I saw grown men fighting over purple hulls on the ground. Many guns. A lot of food. A god ugly Hawaiian shirt speaking before a crowd.
I thought it was a normal dream but quickly realized it was a nightmare when the god awful shirt showed up!

Everyone's always jealous of my sense of style. And, there are no hulls on the ground at this shoot. People stand to the right when pumps and autoloaders are shot and catch the hulls in the air.
