Aguila shotshells are now hitting these shores and shotsizes range from #8 to #2 lead. It's been a long time since a lead #2 was available in 16ga. I had a hankering for some awhile back ("just in case") and found a couple boxes of '70s vintage Remington Express, but new ammo is now imported from Aquila, although its only a 1 oz load.

You'd be hard pressed to find a use for #2 Lead in Pennsylvania. It's not legal for ducks, geese, turkey, woodchuck or other small game. I don't see documentation saying it's illegal for coyote so you might be able to use for hunting them.

Several places list it, just Google it, but here's one:

http://www.ammunitionsupplycompany.com/AGUILA-1CHB1612-16GA-STD-2-25-10-p/1chb1612.htm

I did notice they list a 1 oz and a 1 1/8 oz and also a #1 Buck load. Since Remington & Winchester dropped it and Federal evidently hasn't shipped any in awhile, that may be good news for those that still shoot 16ga buckshot.

Any review of this ammo?

I would also be interested in knowing the hull maker.

There's an ammo restriction on woodchucks?
In PA, woodchuck are considered small game. Lead shot pellets larger than #4 are not permitted for small game.

....I've shot quite a bit of Aguilla in Mexico.
I wasn't hitting all so hot with the ALTA Velocidad 16ga 1-1/8oz. #4 a few years ago through a MOD choked Model 12, so I brought a few home and sent to Tom Armbrust.

I'll try to find his data if anyone is interested, but they were a Remington hull and Power Piston type wad coming out about 1200FPS . They varied about 25 FPS if I remember right.

The components make sense since I heard that they took over an old Remington ammo factory down in the mainland. The Aguilla 16 gauge hulls are maroon but look exactly like a green 16 ga Remington dimensionally and crimp wise.

since the bass pro debacle with herter's I was bringing this dead thread back to see if these are truly worth the investment.
