I am not much on patterning for clay target loads, but I do pattern for hunting loads. Mostly because I like to eat the birds I kill and every once in awhile a load will pattern a bit different than you expect.
I don't use the DR16 for my hunting loads but I have broken a pile of targets with it and have gotten punches using the DR16 for registered Sporting Clays. 3 weeks ago I shot a nice 98/100 with a 7/8 oz load with the DR16 at wobble skeet.
I have a hunch that we have folks that don't like the DR16 and are choosing to run it down. |

I will admit I have never patterned a load with the DR16 wad. I do know the loads I use them in have broken alot of clays and killed alot of Dove, Snipe ,Quail and a few pheasent with them , and done that very well.
For me there was alittle learning curve when beginning to load the wad , but once I got past that ( which didn't take long ) it is well worth it not to have to use fillers . It's a great wad for 7/8 and 3/4oz loads . |
