I am looking at This gun: Very nice 16 ga. NID with 28" barrels that I will sell for cash or trade for a 12 GA. 32" NID, keeping in mind that 16 ga. Is worth a bit more than a 12 ga.. Chokes are 2 & 4 meaning Modified (R) and Full (L). The serial number on this gun is in the 460,xxx area. LOP is 14 3/4" from the front trigger and 13 3/4" from the rear. DOC is around 1 3/4" and DAH around 3".
The seller is asking 1295.00 doesnt that seem high for a NID?
I will try to post some picts.
Lance

Lance: If that is a clean gun with no buggered screws and at least 50% case colors, 2 3/4 chambers, and the chokes have not been opened-RUN DON'T WALK and buy it now. If you don't want it, buy it for me! Very Happy(I'm serious)
Check http://www.gunshop.com/dgsnos3.htm for the year of manufacture (should be late 30s or early 40s and likely does have 2 3/4 chamber)
That would be high for a NID with no case, beat up wood and brls but not for a nice gun.

OK-the pics help alot. It's a 1926 gun by the serial # which would fit with the cocking indicators. Likely to originally have had 2 9/16 chambers. Stock may have been refinished to be that clean for a gun of that age-I don't see any cracks where the head of the stock meets the receiver which can be a problem with Ithacas. Pics always hard to interpret but the screws are a bit buggered and I'd rate the case color less than 50%.
Looks to be a private sale but he does allow a 3 day return. This IS a tough one but I'd say his asking price is indeed about $200 too high.
I personally WOULD buy this gun at a gun shop or gun show (for $1000-1100) if I had it in hand to look over but I just hate buying guns sight unseen.
I'll be interested to see what other guys think. You might PM Brad6260-he's an Ithaca/Parker kinda fella.

I do think a three day return would be nice and if the gun is what he said he shouldn't mine. Also doesn't hurt to offer less. I did buy a grade two 16ga ithaca and payed $1400.00 so offer less if you can and see what happens if you don't have to have it right now!
