October?
I'm hearing everything from May to September. |

I ordered mine in February from a good friend who happens to be the area rep for Browning. He told me, at that time, to expect it mid-October. |

Ordered mine during shot show and my dealer then said August/September. Hoping sooner than later. Be interesting if someone had an "in" and Browning to actually get the low down on these. Seems like different reps are telling people different things. |

Emailed Browning today and they said they did not have a solid estimate yet as they are still being told "late summer/early fall". Got the impression that they are at the whim on FN as to when they produce and ship. Just thought I'd pass along what I learned. |

I called Browning customer service. The guy said he thought they would ship late September. I explained to him that Texas dove season opens September 1 and my birthday is September 4. He was unmoved |

Anyone receive one of these yet by any chance?
I'm getting antsy about buying a new gun... been holding out to hear how this new Browning is, but my willpower is waning. I can tell I'm going to end up buying a Stevens 555 28ga or such before too long, if I can't get some 16-ga info/reports as a fix!

Dave See JNW's recent post on the subject in the Sweet 16 shoot thread. Best you can do right now is the you tube videos from when it was being shot at SHOT show |

JNW wrote:I have some bad news, kind of. I have been working with Browning to try and get a new A5 16 gauge to the shoot, but to no avail. There are 5 preproduction prototypes in the US and they are all in the hands of supposed gun writers for evaluation. I told them that letting us shoot it for the day would have been the best advertising they could have gotten. They keep pushing back the release date and they told me just today that they wil start delivery in September. Maybe next year, but by then we'll have a bunch of our own. Hope to see many of you there.
Regards,

Cheer up guys, there are a whole lot of old A-5's out there, probably a better gun, and cheaper.
