This is great news as I requested from Kent when they first announced them as to why they were dumbing down the 16 to 20 gauge specs. 1300 fps is what they should be. This will be my go to greenhead load this fall. Hopefully the same is true with RIO's Bismuth offering as their site had the same specs as Kent. Anyone finding Rio's 16 Gauge Bismuth at any retailers?

Are #5's too small for geese? There doesn't seem to be any #2 for the 16 gauge

Here in south carolina you cant hunt geese with anything smaller than #2's. Dont know if thats federal law or just state. I never hunt geese here so i dont keep up with it. When im in arkansas i usually take my 10ga if i hunt a ricefield in addition to my 12 in case some specks fly over

Finally got to try out #6 Kent Bismuth this morning in a std. 16ga A5. Worked well when I did my part.

I see Kent finally has the correct 1300 fps velocity listed on their web site. Cabela's still has it listed at 1200 fps.

I know your pain !!! the safe act sez the companies can send you ammo , bur the illegality is upon receiving it . There is no problem if you have it sent to an FFL and they receive it for you . I called Gamaleil I think it was to try to get some stuff lined up and they asked what the problem was - they could/would send it direct to me . So far the weasier way is to reload if that's an option .(I have a few FFL's at a local club that will receive for me) cheers

Yep reloading for the 16 is in the near future, I already have a 12 and 20 reloaded, just working on shooting up some shells to reload. Then start looking for a MEC reloader.

make me think that the Kent #5's will be a decent TURKY load come the Spring season here in SE MI.

WIll get some more for back up, as bought three boxes of #5's in the 12, 16, & 20 gages.

And the price dropped abit @ the Dundee Cabelas.
