My local Wally has added a few 16ga offerings. I picked up a couple of boxes of #8 Winchester Super-X. They also had some federals in #6 shot. Both standard and 'high brass'. Didn't see any RGL's. But since my Walmart hasn't had any 16ga shells for the last seven years, it was encouraging.

I noticed that they are carrying 16ga at my local Walmarts as well. It's been a while since I've seen 16ga on the shelves so it was a welcome surprise. The 1oz #6 federal loads were $7.95 and the 1 1/8of federal #6 were $16 or so. They also had some Winchester #8 1oz for $9 that I bought a few boxes of. Don't need them necessarily but I've never shot the Winchester loads and wanted some variety in my hulls. I was surprised to see Winchester on the headstamp instead of the stars because I have read they are cheddite hulls. I guess when you order enough hulls you can get whatever you want stamped on the headstamp.

I was just at a Wal-Mart and that had 5 boxes of the Winchester 1oz in number 8s. At 9.16 a box they all came home with me. I believe the last time I checked on the price of these at Cabelas they were in the 14 dollar range. I like to use these shells as well as Federals to cut off into 2.5 inch hulls.

Regards, Gordon

The few times that I have seen 16ga shells at a Walmart or most any store in SE Kansas they were high brass 6's for a high price! Loads that we have no use for in this area unless hunting pen raised pheasants. However my local sporting clays club has the Fiocchi 16ga target loads.
