Kinda surprising
RGL Hull 2 3/4"
Fed 209A
16.0 gr Green Dot
CB-0078 wad
7/8oz 7 1/2 lead
6 Fold
1207 11800
1205 11700
1222 12900
1214 12400
1204 11900
Ave 1210 fps AVE 12140
EV18 fps EV 1200psi
Surprised that pressure is that high with the velocity being that slow .
Just a reminder. Velocity and pressure are not related. |

Load with 15.5 grains and W209 primers are heading to Tom as we speak. I'll keep everyone posted. |

The actual relationship has to do with total pressure rather than peak pressure causing velocity. |

Byrdog, the goal was to tighten up the top IC barrel on that light prewar 200E, and I wanted to take a look at the B&P ("Trap Commander" as marketed by BPI) wad in a moderate velocity load with hard shot. The first Green Dot load put 88% in a 30" circle at 25 yards. The Unique load visually looked about the same. I'll have to take a look at both at 40 yards.
12 ga. Fed Gold Medal hull
Fed 209A
20 grs. Green Dot
B&P ("Trap Commander") wad
1 1/8 oz. lead
Velocity: 1198 fps (1185-1189-1212) 23 fps variation
Pressure: 8366 psi (8100-7900-9100) 1200 psi variation
12 ga. Fed Gold Medal hull
Fed 209A
21.5 grs. Unique
B&P ("Trap Commander") wad
1 1/8 oz. lead
Velocity: 1177 fps (1184-1160-1187) 27 fps variation
Pressure: 6633 psi (6800-6100-7000) 900 psi variation |

Back to the 16 ga. Green Dot load, in this case (no pun intended) my Chrony results were pretty close to Tom's.
I had: 1183-1204-1170 for an average of 1185 fps with a 34 fps variation
Tom: 1188-1155-1180 for an average of 1175 fps with a 33 fps variation
--------------------
I'm going to go with the International Clays load below.
As tested by Tom Armbrust: Rem. Game Load Hull
CB0078 wad
16.0 gr. International Clays
W209 primer
7/8 oz. West Coast Mag 8's
They averaged 1250 fps with a variation of 18 fps.
The pressure was 10,666 psi with a variation of 800 psi.
--------------
Below are "real world" results from my MEC Sizemaster and a reduction of powder. I'll see what my #24 bushing throws, but I'll stay under 16 grains and over 15.
16 ga.RGL Hull
W209
Claybuster CB0078-16 wad
7/8 oz Rio mag 8's (actual 392-395 grs. dropped by my MEC 7/8 oz. bar)
Int. Clays 15.2-15.4 grs. as dropped by my MEC #23 bushing
Velocity
(1166-1178-1176) for an average of 1173 fps and a 12 fps variation |

I shot some of the International loads ( 15.5 grs) in the Little Belgian O/U the other day . Still can't believe I am lucky enough to be the caretaker of this sweet handling beauty .
Thanks again Dave , any sellers remorse yet? Looks like you got some really nice new replacements to keep your mind off of it .
I already have 200 of the Green Dot loads put together that I'll be shooting sometime next week |

I always have sellers remorse after selling nice guns. I sold my Rem. 11 to Carl (Savage16), and that one also hurt! You two are worthy caretakers though, and that makes it OK. So glad you like it! I thought you would |
