After reading the other thread about Rem cases and Green Dot, it got me thinking.
I have a couple hundred left of Rem cases, W209 primers, 15/16 oz. with SP16 wad and a whopping 18 gns. Green Dot.
It is possible these are unsafe?
I loaded them awhile ago, and I don't normally go off book.
Anyone have an old data book with Rem cases and Green Dot with SP16 wads?
Thanks

Check Lyman's 5th Edition, VERY close
Also in the Yahoo spreadsheet in the powder file under Green Dot for 7/8 ounce and pressure 9,800 psi

Yes, I see that one in Lymans 5th, but that is 7/8 oz. I wouldn't have gone off book in that direction.
I don't have access to that Yahoo group. I might have before but I can't remember.
I will certainly switch powders next time. I may dismantle these, or send them out for pressure testing? It is a nice load, except I may never get these Rem cases to reload. They are quite crispy, even though the finished load looks perfect. |
