RGL hulls? We don't need no stinkin' RGL hulls!

These are just the backup hulls. I've got about 2000 Fed and Cheditte hulls in use now.

Wow Dave! Old copper-headed 8-pointers! You don't see them much anymore. I can't remember - did those come originally with 209-size primers? The last of those black copper-heads I had were in 12 gauge.
|
Yes, they are 209s. I didn't know for sure until this morning when I decided to load up 3 boxes of nickel 7's for my newly choke-opened Merkel. I came into a large stash of RGL's a couple summers ago. Must have about 4-500 or these, another 500+ green Express hulls, and a couple thousand older black 6-point hulls. Between The RGL's, a mountain of Federals, and a growing pile of Herters I think I'm set for life.
|
Maybe I can help simplify your life and take those antique 6-pointers off your hands. That way you'll have more room for Herter's or something more modern - RGL 6-pointers are so yesterday |

They do if they try to load RGLs on a progressive reloader.

Filled 2 of these up on my Mec Grabber recently , no messin with hull months on 3-4 times fired hulls , with only maybe 1 out of 100 the wad will hag on the hull mouth , I can hear the click and remove it from the press . I can live with that and they crimp vault tight .

Not certain this has been shared before, FWIW; I load a few RGL's for Trap & long range targets once in a while and found having a hairdryer running next to the bench and warming the hull mouth just a couple seconds before reloading makes loading the RGL's a breeze. No pre opening needed or hung up wads, good to go.
Also helps when trimming 2 3/4" Ched hulls down and setting new fold crimps, no crushed hull walls & perfect crimps. Finding after heating the first "new" fold crimp no needed heat next time. |

Hey Mikey , how's the trap and Sporting circuit going !!?? I keep picking on the Runnings and Wally in Canand. the Runnings people keep telling me they are controlled by an area unit that does the ordering/supplying and that they don't have any control !! I keep telling them I won't by anything till they start getting some inventory in . They start telling me of the absence of manufacturers , and then I reel off 10 and they just shrug ... Wally , I work on them the same way , and get the same story , HOWEVER ... lately there has been some Winnies and Remmies - not tons , but at least some !! I lay the safe act on them and walk away , but they seem to know I'm gonna buy something there ! |

Glad you see merit in the technique, working well for me, good luck with it. |
