Nick,
I have heard and read a lot of naysaying about 9’s but as they say, the proof is in the pudding. We both use 9’s, but we skin the cat differently. You rely on high velocity and lead; I shoot subsonic and tungsten with a pellet density of 18 g/cc. I couldn’t read your wad width so I wasn’t sure of the gauge. You put a lot of thought and work in that wad design for sure.
My “big gun” is now a single shot 20 ga with a 1 5/8 oz. load. It’s a legitimate 60 yard gun with its pattern. My little gun is the single shot .410 below. It’s a legitimate 50 yard gun with the ability to put 159 pellets of 9.5 size into the ten ring at 40 yards. The .410 load is 13/16 oz. of TSS 9 or 9.5. I don’t shoot either gun at their max, but prefer shots inside 40 yards. The bird below, May of this year, was at 25-30 yards more or less. Thanks for sharing. Gil
