Congrats Dave!!
I'm on the North Shore of Lake Superior grouse hunting this week. Have the 26" IC 37 and FAIR 500 but the 37 has been getting most of the work. I really, really like this gun a lot. The Toller seems pleased with it too!

Mike, good going! When I hit semi-retirement in a couple more years we MN/WI 16'ners will have to start an annual grouse camp.
I'm going to hunt ducks again tomorrow and Sunday morning. I'll take the older dogs tomorrow, and the pup on Sunday morning. The afternoons and evenings will be spend rebuilding my now dry basement after some flooding. Grrr... |

That's my Husqvarna mod. 44 with 31" Barnard damascus barrels. Only one of its kind that I know of. I had Briley re-choke it to lm/lf, and polish the bores to remove some pitting. It's a great pheasant gun with ITX loads. |

Here's a nice rooster from this morning with my Husky 12ga mod. 48. Not a 16, but I wanted to take it for its first bird hunt since I've owned it. I've converted this gun to straight grip and given it a butt transplant, but I still have to re-blue, re- checker and refinish. Those 2.5" Kent TM 1 1/16" #5 loads are expensive, but tremendously effective at longer ranges. It's really unfortunate they stopped making them.

Hey all, fun post! I use a 16ga for quite a bit of my upland hunting and also my light British 12b guns. To keep the thread pure, here's my season so far using my 16ga guns:
16b Charles Hellis
16b John Wilkes
16ga Carl Goluch
16b Charles Boswell
Same Gun with my GSP Raina (had to post a pic of my girl!)
16ga Ugartecha 1030
16ga Arrieta 871
So far it's been a good year. Hope it keeps up!
Best,
Greg |

Work and Travel have been crazy this fall, but I have been grabbing a quick morning or afternoon hunt when I can. This particular day, I did not see a ton of birds, but for some reason, the ones I saw presented a pretty good shot and I was actually hitting!

Well. . . it fit well that afternoon. . . Been a couple others that I wondered. Stieg seems to be back to normal. All the rest has left him a little out of shape, so his stamina is not at 100%, but he is coming along. When you coming up to the Duluth area next? |

Here's my 8 month old Drahthaar pup Zeb Sunday morning. We're on our way out of the swamp after he tracked and retrieved his first three ducks. |
