Hello,
I'm a new member to this site so please forgive me if I error.
I have a Noble 16 ga. that I recently came the owner of. SO I'm looking for some help in identifying the maker. It was made in 1960 (F1) the proof house was Eibar. I know the choke marks but here is my dilema .... The serial number reads .... A.B 20 250 then there is JCM inside an oval
HELP PLEASE
If anyone can give any information on this I would really appreciate it.
Thanks Doug |

Wiley Marine, I can't help you with your question, but I can welcome you to the site.
If you are an ex Marine, good for you. I am an ex Army ground pounder, having retired Jan '95.
I am sure some of the smarter ones on this site will be able to give you some help with your question.
Welcome aboard!

You a Marine?
Dad was a Marine, 1st Lt in WWII then back to Master Sgt, then retired as CWO3.
Mom was one of the first 65 to start the Women's Marine Corps in WWII.
Promoted to Capt and got out.

Skeettx,
Yes I was a Marine... Now retire.. You come with a great family back ground.
I see that you are a Society member, I've tried several times to join but it always say that "Membership orders are temporarily disabled". Can you help me with this???

I had one of those Noble doubles (12g a.) back in my college years. They are very undervalued due to the Noble brand name. I am not saying it is a high end gun, but for the same money you can't find anything near as nice (at least judging by what I had).
I remember mine was a very light and lively handling gun with fairly pretty wood. I remember paying $250 for it. Unfortunately, I do not recall who the maker was. Victor Sarasqueta perhaps? It has been a long time. |

To All of You ...Thanks for your help.
My Noble 16 was made by J.C. Mugica in Eibar,Spain in 1960. And yes Chukar it is a fine handling delight.
Skeettx hooked me up with several links...very helpful ... thanks Skeettx.
As far as being undervalued you're right. He was back then not well known in the US so the value at present does not compliment the Shotguns.
Again thanks to all.

Doug
Our Founder, also Doug, passed away a couple of years ago.
Since that time, no full society additions have been processed.
The family is still in discussion of the progress forward.
So we on on "kind of auto-pilot" and acting as Ladies and Gentlemen.

The fact that Noble is more known for very cheap pump guns helps hold the value down too. I actually wouldn't mind snatching up a gun like yours some day if I stumble into one real cheap again. |
