Just bought one, according to the serial number it was made in 1958. The receiver and barrel numbers match except the barrel number has a -4. Is there a reason the numbers are not exactly the same? Thanks in advance, Jim |

Jim, first welcome to the 16ga Society, glad to have you here. I have a 1957 Ithaca Mod 37. On the right side of the barrel is the serial number followed by a - 1.
On the left side of the barrel, just in front of the receiver it is marked: I-CYL.
Does yours say "FULL" on the left side of the barrel? I bet it does.

Dale, factory IC on the old M-37's is the scarcest of chokes for that gun. I have an IC, 26" on a 16 M37 and it is a versatile choke for the type hunting I do on dove, quail and woodcock. My gun is '63 or '64, can't remember which. Gil |

Mike will take about 8 days from the time you ship to the time you get it back. The last 3 barrel jobs I sent him were 8 days at the most from Ga to MA and back. Gil |

I'm seriously thinking of having Mike Orlen install choke tubes (IC, Mod. Full) on one of my 16 ga Ithaca Model 37's that has a Mod. barrel. |

For choke tubes I had Briley do my 37RVD. They are bore matched and steel capable. If I was just going to open the choke I would send them to Mike and tell how much constriction I want. For my target 37 I am very happy with the job Briley did, and feel the gun was worth it.

Mike had the M-37 turned into an ic and returned six days after it left my house. Did an outstanding job, I recommend him highly. Great turn around times. Jim |

I have a 58 Model 37 16 Ga. also and It is a dream tp shoot. I had a problem with extractions but after a deep cleaning that should not be a problem. |

Beautiful gun IMO. Could you tell us what year or era your gun was made in Cold Iron? Thanks. |

1962 the 37RVD was made from 1961 until 1967 when the Supreme replaced it. You can spot them by the squared off checkering. |
