This isn't directed at anyone, just a reminder about the Guidelines established by our founder for the Wanted or For Sale section. We have little to no oversight on this board, so we all need to be conscientious. Happy buying, selling and trading.

Due to popular demand, we have installed a forum topic to assist the buying, selling and trading of 16ga.guns. 16ga. (or 16ga.com) is not a gun dealer and accepts NO COMMISSIONS on any transactions that may or may not occur. This feature is offered to The 16ga.Society members and intended to act much like a 'want ad' in a newspaper. There are guidelines that MUST be followed for this to work. They are the following:

1) This forum is REQUIRED to be friendly. See Rules 4 & 5.

2) 16ga. does not warrant the information about the gun or the condition of the gun. 16ga. will take no part in the dealings between buyer and seller and will not arbitrate any disputes, no matter how minor.

3) List Only ONE gun at a time. Private parties only. Dealers have their own websites and networks. Anyone listing multiple guns will be viewed as a professional and we will delete all but ONE listing.

4) NO negotiation on GunTalk. Any negotiations between seller and buyer should be handled privately using the Private Message (PM) feature of GunTalk via E-mail.

5) Additional posts should only seek further information about the 16ga. gun in question. NO posts are allowed that critique or editorialize the Author's intent, motives, or competence. This forum is intended to be a friendly posting of 'want ads' and should not merit responses that can be taken personally.

6) Once the gun is found or sold, post a notice so the listing can be removed.

More guidelines will likely be necessary, so check every now and then. We hope this works because it could be fun.

Would be helpful if you were more specific about "guideline" you seem to be concerned about being violated.

Not sure, but coincidental to the "aimed at no one" clarification, Skeettx included some non-16 ga stuff as an addendum to the conversation that was originally about 16 ga stuff for sale. Seems we aren't supposed to talk about anything no specifically on the agenda, at least for those in "that" senators state.

I know, I feel terrible if my question was out of line. I'm hoping that those who see the need for clarifying the guidelines will be more direct and point out the error that brought forth the notice of guidelines. Otherwise, I'll continue to feel bad that I caused ill will about my favorite website.

Ummm ... I don't get it guys. Is something really not clear about this from the OP??

Goodness gracious, you guys are seeing conspiracies and plots where there are none to be found. You give me way more credit than I deserve for being dark and nefarious.
I find myself needing reminders about important things from time to time. This is my favorite site on the net and I just want it to remain welcoming. I made the mistake of thinking that reviewing the guidelines on occasion is not a bad thing. Apparently it is. I carefully crafted my post to be as non threatening and general as possible and I have now been accused of singling out specific members. I didn't even read the posts I'm accused of targeting. You can think what you want, but I was just trying to be helpful. No good deed goes unpunished here, that's for sure.

No harm done all around. I can't say before you posted them that I'd ever read them, so a " review" never hurts. Posting more than one gun for sale at a time is a rule commonly violated, but I can't see that it's ever really wadded anybody's Hanes.

If we try REALLY HARD, I'm sure we can find more violations of "Guidelines".
