Has anyone ever measured the Herter's 5 shot to see it's American sized or Euro sized (5.5's)?? Not that it makes a whole hill of beans difference, I'm just curious. I've got some coming and if I don't hear back on this I'll cut one open and check for myself.

Mine are supposed to show up today, so I'll cut one open and report back.

The only thing I have found with Herter's shells is they seem dirtier than most...but its easily fixed.

We used the Herter's #5's in SD last year. Worked fine.
For what its worth, my current favorite shot for reloading for pheasant is BPI's nickle plated 5 1/2's. They are killer. Particularly in the lighter shot loads of the smaller gauges. If Herter's #5's are actually 5 1/2's, I'd consider that a plus.
