Don't know if you guys saw this but this nice looking M31 is on GB right now. I am watching it but have decided to let it pass because I already own 3 and really don't need another.

I do not know or have affiliation with the seller.

P.S. I inquired as to the date of Manufacture and he replied 1947. It's priced right and I highly recommend this pump gun in 16 gauge.

I think it is a M31, best as I can tell from picture #16 of 22.

It sure looks like an alloy receiver to me. I looked at photo 4 and didn't think that it looked blued.

Take a look at picture # 17, it clearly says Model 31.

You know, I thought this over a little more. This could be one of those unmarked 31L's.
Some Mod 31's were made with an alloy frame, and not marked as an 31L.

It is hard to tell, as the pictures don't really tell the true story of the gun. Either way, it is a nice looking 31, yeah Cowdoc, it went a mite high, but you can't buy a better pump 16 ga shotgun new today. Wink

I had asked the seller if it was an alloy receiver and he said yes.

Which gun is more valuable- steel or alloy receiver?

According to the "Blue Book of Gun Values", the steel frame is valued more, even though less of the alloy framed guns were made.
Might be because the alloy guns had a bad rep for cracked receivers(which I have one), and the tendency for the stock to crack right behind the receiver(which mine has).
I think value is determined by the individual, the lightweight of the alloy gun sure makes for an easy carrying upland gun, and the steel receiver gives the hunter the option to shoot heavier loads comfortably.

Depends on what you like I guess! Wink

I usually see the "L" models bring more.

Dale, my 31L doesn't have the "L" nor does it have either crack and it is a joy to carry on an all day rabbit hunt. I thought no pump could compare to my model 37's..... until I carried my 1st mod 31L.
P.S. The mod 12 is a pretty good 3rd option.

Beagleman sounds like a great gun, the crack on mine hasn't affected me shooting it, and I doubt it ever will.

I have a straight stocked M12 16ga made in 1920, and it is very nice, but not as slick as my 31L.
