Thank you Dave for the heads-up, I received the gun yesterday. Kudos to this forum, it's members and its inherent generosity of information. |

Thanks guys, not as nice or fancy as the one in M16's post/link nor my Merkel but I like the elegance and simplicity of design and finish (actually better than fancy), wish they hadn't done the faux flame case color thing but it's not completely terrible. Posted a couple pics over on the Gun's section.
Note; apologies to Montana16, I gave accolades to Dave Erickson as the one who brought it to our/my attention initially. Many thanks M16, O/U DT is my favorite platform and there aren't a lot of these available. and Thanks to you Dave for the shove in the right direction.
I know the "keep it OEM" crowd will shudder at this but I plan to have tubes installed to make it more versatile for tight Upland work and possibly some small spread Duck hunting.
Wonderful forum, hope this lasts a long time. |

Putzy, that OU you just picked up sounds like a very well made and dynamic piece. I'd tube it with no reservations. Who wants to be shooting slug-sized patterns at flushing game birds? It might not be perfect, but it sounds like a perfect using gun. I'm over the SxS thing. OU game guns are where it's at!
Montana, that Ugie OU really looks nice! if I were again looking for a 16 ga. Merkel OU I'd be all over that Ugie. |

putz463, thanks for the mention. This forum is a great place, I have learned a tremendous amount from the site and making a contribution is great.
My Merkel is choked Modified and Full. Just demolishes the skeet targets! I was thinking about loading spreaders for grouse, etc.. at close ranges, Never thought at about adding choke tubes......you got me thinkin..... |
