I have a sweet 16 1957 with a 26 " barrel vent rib.
What is different is the barrel marking is - ** and it has .014 choke restriction.
Have you ever seen a barrel marked like this before?

Sounds correct to me
What is the issue?

-** is improved cylinder and these were for ammo before the plastic shot wad and fold crimp.

I have a swt16 marked **- and a double auto marked -**. fn16 is correct, both imp cyl. Both of these guns pattern a little tighter, somewhere between light mod and mod.

I believe I read it here once, that the proper stamping has the dash on the right side and if on the left it was a modified choke (or possibly full) altered after initial manufacture. I only had one ic-stamped 16ga browning barrel and believe it came in at. 010" of constriction.

KGB
I was wondering that also with the dash on the left if it was reamed at browning?
This is a 26 inch barrel did browning even make 26 inch sweet 16ga barrel in mod or full choke.
All the barrels I have seen in mod and full are 28 or 30 inch.
Thanks for the info😀
