Headed to AR for the opener and decided to take the new model 12 one morning. We killed our 4 limits of wood ducks since the big ducks didnt cooperate. The gun is so light it took some getting used to as I was swinging too fast. Bismuth #5's did the trick. My buddies were crippling them with steel. The bismuth folded em up

| Yes it was the kent #5's. I hate to admit i spent way too much missing those boogers with those $1.50 shells. Time to hit the clays and get used to it. In my defense it was the first time id shot the gun other than test firing it |

Thanks! I haven't used my Kent bismuth 5's yet, so I've been curious about how they are performing in the field.
I hear you on the difficulties of shooting a strange gun on game. Seems if you get of on the wrong foot it gets in your head and things get worse before they get better. I flubbed badly on a rooster with a new/used Rem. 48 after I spoke so cockily before the season about being sure I'd be able to hit with it.  It hasn't been out of the safe since that day. |

| Boy hunting with me asked why i would waste money on a wood duck shooting those expensive shells. I told him if i had worried about how much it cost to duck hunt id have quit long ago. It was very satisfying to roll those birds up with that model 12. I always thought they named the "sweet 16" a5 right but swinging this model 12, i believe it might be a sweeter 16 and thats coming from a die hard A5 man. |

As to why someone would spend $1.50 per shell to kill a woodduck, I quote Christmas Moultrie, a market hunter from Savannah who almost a 100 years ago was on trial for shooting woodducks out of season. When asked by the Court why he would do such a thing, Christmas incredulously replied: "Sir, ain't you ever ate summer duck?"

| that is one bad a**ed pic of trout flies you have there !! That m12 was born for that kind of work . nice that there is a replacement for the old lead that is still relevant !! |

Woodie and gadwall are my two favorites to eat. Wood duck on the grill or whole in the oven and gadwall in a duck bog with rice and sausage.
The model 12 is a 28" modified
Wish i could tie flies. I wanna get into fly fishing but with a 2 year old and another due end of Dec im gonna have my hands full.
