I had a small amount of Win540 that I was using on Fall clays. Temps hit freezing @32+/- and it went from dirty to nasty dirty. Back to Unique & Green Dot for me.

540 & 571 are filthy, I never could get a nice clean burn out of either one.

Here is my experience, purely anecdotal, concerning Longshot and cold weather. Some of the loads I use in the 16 are 1 1/8 oz. loads using long shot. I have cleanly harvested birds with these loads in sub zero weather the past two years at distances that most would consider pretty darn long. If there is a drop in velocity and pressure it doesn't seem to be important. Keep in mind that most of my loads are only in the 1200 fps range to begin with. Any "duds" I have experienced with LS have been confirmed as powder leakage in shell. Preflared wads cured it.

For what it's worth, I've been using Longshot in my 1 1/8 ounce pheasant loads for the last few years with excellent results--even in cold weather.

I hunted last Saturday in zero degree weather and my reloads with Longshot performed very well.

I've hunted in Eastern Washington, central Montana and northern South Dakota on many late season pheasant hunts in temps down to -10 below F. With no issues.

Once, in South Dakota it was -23 below zero and my Longshot load worked great--until my gun actually froze and it would not fire.
