I'm in the process of moving so I can't weight yet. The one design that has me a little concerned is the forearm it is extremely thin. Once in place is well supported but needs to be handled very carefully to prevent cracking.

I don't have that perception of the forearm, but I could be wrong. It's similar to a 20 gauge Montrefeltro. Black Belt brought his Monte 20 over last night as a matter of fact so we could compare the handling, etc. I do know that after swinging this thing around all my other shotguns feel heavy. Smile

This 28" barrel and the long receiver makes it like a 31-32" double. Hoping the long sight plane offsets the light weight. It feels pretty stabile and precise. I've been chatting with Larry Brown about the SW16 he demo'd and he said his was dead reliable through about two flats of Herter's 1 oz loads and some 1 1/8oz. hunting loads. He said he liked it a lot for pheasant and open prairie birds like sharptail. He wasn't big on the pistol grip for one-hand carry in the grouse woods. Overall, that's high praise coming from a SxS devotee!

Got a call from my dealer yesterday that mine with 28" barrel is in also. Picking it up tonight or tomorrow. Bad timing for me do I may end up selling it right away. Depends on how the wood looks and what the serial number is I guess. Excited either way, if I keep it it will be my duck gun for the last split of the MD season

I picked up my new sweet 16 today from Duke's New Castle, PA. They received two that were preordered. It just so happened that both of us were there at the same time to get our guns. Smiles all around to be sure. The guns certainly got a lot of attention from staff and customers alike. Now I have to wait another week for deer season to wrap up so I can take it out bird hunting.

Just picked mine up tonight but haven't had a chance assemble it yet. My wood is gorgeous! Dark with lots of figure on the stock. There were four of us gathered around the box when it was opened and everyone looking had a similar, "Oh my gosh"! Response as the butt stock was unveiled. 26" version.

Congrats and glad you finally got yours Jason! How did you talk Dave into staying the course to get one?! Very Happy

Waiting on reports before I get one, and of course has to have nice wood. Sounds like you nailed it and glad to hear it!

The sharp radius of the Benelli Ultralight doesn't really bother me carrying for grouse then again haven't shot it in the last year since shooting the 16's as much as I have. Not sure an auto is the direction I want to go for my next gun. Then again...

Mike, Jason won the wood lottery! Wow! His SW16 is stunning! The wood on mine is plain straight grain, with some slight fiddleback, but I still like it!

Thanks, Mike! I'm thrilled to have it in hand, finally. In terms of getting Dave back on boar, Dave truly is a hunter and spends a lot of time in the field so between my babbling and his time afield he could see the logic behind needing one of these too.

Dave has a beautiful specimen and I'm certain he will shoot it well!

We're thinking there might be need for a New Sweet Sixteen squad at May's 16ga shoot...
