Had a fantastic but cold hunt with Dave Erickson and two of my other buddies. Had a great day and the dogs were hot even in the cold. My 8 month old pup is doing outstanding for a young dog but my 3 year old is a master already. Note the new Sweet Sixteens in the picture.

Good job guys!
Fun was had by all (except the bunnies).
Sweets must handle well?
Chokes?
Shot size etc?? |

The Sweets handle great and "get on" fast. I just grabbed what I was shooting at pheasants last which were the Herter's 1 1/8 oz. 5's in the Mod choke. It was way overkill today because every shot I had could have been made with a straight Cyl choke and an ounce of 6's or thereabouts.
I think Jason had a Light Mod choke tube in...not sure what load he was shooting today. |

Most funof all is watching Jason's beagles work through 8" of powder snow. They sure worked hard and produced the bunnies! When you suddenly hear that shrill chortle it's "man the battle stations!!" What fun! |

I was shooting the LM choke and a mix of PMC 6's, Golden Pheasants 5's, Federal Hi-Power 6's all 1 1/8oz.
Like Dave said, these sweets get on fast. I love my new sweet and could hunt with this gun and no other for the rest of the season. |

Sweet!
Having never hunted behind beagles, I have to ask... what is the anchor used for?

It goes on a rope tied around my waist because I'm such a brush busting machine I need to be slowed down. |

My assumption was along those lines. Only, I figured Black Belt's beagles were the ones wearing it because otherwise they caught the rabbits and you guys had nothing at which to shoot! |

Haha, Upland Carpenter! These two need the anchor somedays, but seriously, who doesn't carry an anchor around in the back of their truck? 😜 It's my buddy's truck so I have no idea why he has an anchor right now! |
