MtBirder, welcome to the 16 ga society, from your southern neighbor. Glad to have you here.
Post often, we need new blood and opinions

Bob,
That is nuts! For about $3500 B. Rizzini will build you a custom gun with your own dimensions any way you want. For $5k it would be stunning. But, if a Browning is what you want then nothing else will do. Hmmmm, wonder what I could get for mine?

Guess I picked the wrong time to buy a new 16 O/U. Sigh. |

Howdy everyone,
First post here, guess I'll blow it on a potentially dumb question...
http://www.browning.com/products/firearms/shotguns/citori/current-production/citori-white-lightning.html
Has the Browning website always listed the white-lightning 16ga under "current production"? I window shop the website fairly regularly and could swear that the 16ga model wasn't listed there until recently.
I thought maybe it could indicate that Browning was gearing up for another limited production run on these? Sadly I think it is much more likely that my memory is going and those have always been listed there and I just haven't noticed.
I was fortunate enough to grab one (28" WL) off gunbroker in early November, I paid a tad more than I had planned to (thanks auction fever) but after getting it out on a few pheasants I was really happy I did so. I was doubly fortunate to land one of the new sweet 16's last month also to pair it with, sadly haven't had a chance to get that one out of the house just yet.
I'd certainly stay diligent on the auction sites...i've been looking at various Citori 16's for a looong time, availability definitely does seem to be somewhat streaky/cyclical in nature. On a positive note, when you do finally get your hands on one, I speak from experience in saying it will feel a bit more special. Delayed gratification is for real!
So the 16ga disease hit me pretty square, going from 0 in the safe to 2 in little over a month......already convincing myself I need a SxS as well...just in case...
Sorry for the lengthy post, my evening whiskey can make me chatty. Look forward to continuing to learn from everyone here, and contribute (likely mostly by accident) when i can along the way. |

Welcome aboard!
Yes, you need a 16 gauge SxS.
