I'm wanting to reload some low pressure 2 1/2" 16 gauge in ITX or possibly Bismuth and I'm wondering if anybody has a good recipe in one of these. I would like to load at least 1 oz because this is for pheasant hunting and I would probably roll crimp these loads.

On bismuth 2 1/2 data is limited, that said if you roll crimp you can use 2 3/4 bismuth data.

Send me a PM with your email and I can send you bismuth data which maybe usable

Here's one I had tested and posted here a few months ago. Might be a touch light for what you're looking to do, but it's a start....

Just in case someone might be interested I just got the results back from a bismuth load I had tested.

Hull---Cheddite 2 1/2" 16 ga
primer---Win 209
powder---15.5 gr Green dot
wad---SG16
shot---7/8 oz. #7 bismuth
overshot---.030 card

-roll crimped-

ave pressure=6228 psi
ave velocity=1119 fps

My Cheddite hulls actually measure almost 2 9/16", and the 7/8 oz load was good fit with this combination. Could drop the shot charge to 3/4 oz. but would think I would need a 1/8" wad in the bottom of the shot cup to raise the shot column. Or I could trim a bit of the hull. A 3/4 oz load would drop pressure a little, and raise vel. a bit.

Plan on using these in a 1920's vintage Vickers for snipe this fall, so the 7/8 oz load is a bit overkill for what I plan to do with them. Figured it was the heavier of the two loads I might roll up, so that is the one I had tested.

That looks like a good load. Thanks for that.
