I have tried BPI product and it does not work well. Does anyone have a Lyman 16 gauge roll crimper they would sell? thanks, Dave |

For what it's worth... I vaguely remember conversations in these forums indicating the roll crimp tool from Precision Reloading performing better than the BPI one. Others with actual experience may chime in with a more qualified observation than mine.
Best wishes.

I find the GAEP roll crimping tools best, Lyman are ok, but second to GAEP |

I have the precision reloading one. Works very well for me on a drill press, and hand holding the shell. I also put a bit of lithium grease on it every dozen shells or so. A good technique of letting the die sit lightly on the hull for a couple of seconds then lowering for the crimp. Seems to warm up and soften the hull prior to crimping. |

+1 on the PR roller. It has four roll pins and produces a fine crimp. |

Ditto to Roadkill's input, I can say first hand the PR RC tools put the BP (single roll pin) to shame. I wasn't aware the PR tools design had changed to 4 roll pins from the design of the 4 I own (28, 16, 12 & 10ga) having 4 annular ramped grooves machined in. Haven't owned/used one of the GAEP tools so can't comment, but, have never needed to.

I have the GAEP roll crimp head in 24 gauge and it makes beautiful roll crimps. |

From solway.gunner over at duckhuntingchat . Most guys there use him. Just search his name and gaep and youll get his info, maybe gaepreloading.uk or similar. Goodnguy to deal with.
I use the precision tools in 4.gauges and like them. |

I have a BPI roll crimper and it's worked well for me. I have there vise also. I would recommend both products. I don't have any experience with the other brands. |
