Beautiful spot to gaze at. Dunno about hunting it. You can't take advantage of Rusty's Border Collie tricks to herd them back to you without having to go across the ravine? Wink I love the old adage about hunting chukars for fun the first time and thereafter for revenge. A great day for sure on the birds. Gil

Thanks for the great pics WyoChukar. That's great country, and you are one rugged fellow to hunt it.

FN, cool gun.
Floyd, my Willa, Abby and I had a fine morning in the lowcountry today. SC is out next Tuesday and work is rearing ugly head so I might have only one more trip. Temps were cooler than the last week and the birds were around. We had 6 inches of rain over the weekend which may have improved things. First day out with my 1933 Manufrance Ideal 302 16 gauge. I think it's a keeper. Floyd's death-in-the-woods Ithaca SKB 20. We shot at a lot more than this. Wink The dog work has been outstanding, far better than my shooting. Floyd and i alternate trips hunting his Pop and Sadie with my Abby and Willa. The different personalities are fun to observe and all are effective at doing what they do best--finding birds.

Already got ours, and more in the mountains. 2-4 inches was the forecast. I guess they meant 2-4" from the kneecaps.

fn, nice Lefever!

I envy you. It is one degree here as I try to figure out where I can find a chukar before going to work this afternoon. Bobwhites are such endearing birds.

Floyd, Willa, Abby and I introduced Mills to woodcock today and we had a great day in the woods. The only reason you don't see a three gun limit is not because of lack of opportunity. We were in the birds today. Mills introduced us to his 1903 Parker VH 28 gauge. What a beauty of a gun. My 16 gauge Ideal 302 is buried beneath the birds. The reason Floyd's 20 gauge Ithaca SKB is not in the photo is because the woodcock have taken a "contract" out on it so it remains at an undisclosed location. Gil

Darn it Gil !!! If I can't find any northbound woodcock this spring you know who's getting the blame. Evil or Very Mad
But seriously it looks like you guys found a real "hot spot" and had a lot of fun. Smile
