Looks like we'll get the chance for some more Citori 16's. In one of the pics Browning posted on their FB page, you can see a Citori Lightning, and a Gran Lightning in 16g. Doesn't look like there's a 725 in 16g tucked in there though. |

The white lightning listed is from the 2016 run, I don't think they've fully updated the site yet and removed some of last years specials. On the ShotShow 2017 pics Browning has posted so far, there's no White Lightnings visible. |

Sorry about that, I was going off of buckmark's post. I could see anything that gave any indication of a 16ga in the Browning FB pictures. According to Browning's site the above link is from "current production" models. Sorry for any confusion I may have caused. |

I just saw that Reeds in Minnesota has a pre-order for the Citori White Lightening and Citori Gran Lightening in 16 gauge. Both are listed with 28" barrels. If I hadn't just bought a new Sweet 16 I would pre-order a white lightening.

Dave, the white lightening has a silver receiver with an oil finished stock. I think it's a sharp looking shotgun! Your standard lightening has blued metal with a gloss finished stock. |

Great .......7 # 5 oz. gran lightning 16 ga
Non- starter.
How about a 6# or 6# 4 oz max (30" barrels) frame correct 16 ga Citori in Gran Lighting with a true POW open semi pistol grip ( ala Woodward style) / nice wood, oil finish- done ! Here's my check.
I'm tired of 12 gauge weight 16 ga's - what's the point?
Just my $.02 worth.
Best regards,
JBP |

+1 on what JB said. 6 3/4 pounds is my cutoff on 16 ga bird guns and there are enough of them out there to keep my gun fund depleted. |

Where? Granted I have only been looking for 16s for a little while, but there is hardly anything readily available for a reliable, sturdy 16ga field gun. I agree that the Lightning is on the heavy side but really is there a better option as far as a current production, reliable 16ga O/U? If so I would like to know. |

I have a White Lightning 16 gauge with 26" barrels. Changed the butt plate to a pad (so that added a bit of weight). IIRC it's 6 pounds 11 oz. Not a light 16 but it handles very well. Really like shooting it.
My only complaint is the wood. I don't like the finish and the piece itself could not be more different one side to the other. But, at the time of purchase, there wasn't a lot of choice. Especially in Canada in early 2005. |

I'll never understand how a few extra ounces on a gun can make it a 'non starter'. Citori 16's are great guns! Mine hovers just a hair under 7lbs, a far cry from the 8+lbs 12g Citori I used to own. So the previous comment about these 16g Brownings weighing the same as the 12's just isn't true.
So I'm wondering when these guys find their 'perfect weight' 16 bird guns, do they walk the fields with it unloaded too so as to not add those fat extra ounces of the 2 shells in the chamber :/ |
