Hey guys,
I have just started reloading because I couldn't find what I wanted in a factory load. Looking for a 1 1/8 oz 16 ga load at about 1145fps. using Unique. Can I just back the published Unique down from 20.5 @1185 to 20 or 19,5? Thanks Jeff |

I prefer Longshot for 1 1/8 loads in my 16s.

Yes you can. Probably 0.5 grain will do it.
If you can verify with a chronograph that would help. |

That Unique load is a good load , just make sure crimps are tight , ( good compression on the SP wad ) or you my experience some powder migration .
Dogchaser is right a 1/2 grain should do it , but I bet you can't notice the difference in recoil or in the way it shoots. |

20 grains of Longshot with a SP16 Wad and Remington Game load hulls gives me just under 1,200 FPS with 1 1/8 ounces of no. 9s. Averages about 1,185 FPS on the crono. That is with CCI209 Primers. Only slightly faster than you are looking for. I have also fooled with 1 1/16 ounce which by my calculations would have an almost perfect duplicate of the shot column of a 1 1/8 Ounce 12 gauge.
