OK here is the deal... I just today got in the mail my wad slitter from byrdog.. What a thing of beauty... before I ordered this piece of equipment I had just hand slit 250 wad...never again.

I know a lot of you have his shotshell cutter and this is every bit as good.

I made a handheld slitter years ago from a three blade broad head by turning the blades around, removing the sharp edges and sharpening what became the cutting edges. I placed it in a handle and voila, a much faster way of slitting than using the press. I just set out a bunch of steel shot wads on the table and bam, bam, bam got the chore done. It takes a little practice at first though. I doubt my technique would work on softer wads with a cushion section. I still have the thing just in case I need it again.
